Committed Capital is the money that an investor has agreed to contribute to an investment fund. The term is typically used in relation to alternative investments, such us Venture Capital funds, Private Equity funds and Hedge funds. When an investor buys into a these funds, the agreement generally specifies the total amount the investor commits to the fund. This amount is usually not transferred upfront by the investor, but can be drawn down upon request by the fund manager.
